Out with the old …. in with the new….

Out with the old (this table is old – Mr. Incredible learned to eat at this table). The sad thing is – the table is still in good condition – it’s just ugly. Not to mention the chair are plain awful…they scratch up your legs when wearing shorts. (yes I could have recovered them, but I really wanted a new table and chairs) So hopefully we will be able to move it to the basement and make it a project table…homework, art projects etc. Notice the ugly carpet in this photo – that is gone. The walls are painted and those curtains – gone. This picture was taken shortly after we moved in a few years ago… Looking at it – I can’t believe the difference changing the floor, color on the wall etc makes. I used to be known at the queen of white (meaning every wall in the house was white…) and now the only room not painted is the living room – and that will hopefully be done this spring.

Like my new table?

I love it – just got it yesterday. Although last night when putting those little pads on the bottom of the chairs, we did notice that one of the extra chairs is broken – so will be calling the company today to see what they would like to do. Since I’ve had good luck with them in the past I am pretty sure they will stand behind the product and just bring me a new chair….I mean it hasn’t even been in the house a full 24 hours yet. but doesn’t it look so much better in the kitchen the old set?

It does have a leaf and we bought 2 more chairs…now where do I put the extra chairs? The leaf went under my bed and I am guessing I’ll have to cleanout the closet a little bit and put the chairs in there.

I agree with you on all points of a little paint and new floor REALLY change a room. As you know, we just redid ours.

Ohh, you also know that I have a real liking for those curtains!! LOL How funny is it that we both got the same ones around the same time, and didn’t even know it!?!

Hey, you changed alot around here! :) Everything looks great. And, thanks for clueing me on the fact that the middle part that extends the table is called the leaf. heehee Who knew? It looks really nice. As for the extra chairs, maybe you could add one of those pads that change the seat color–something floral or stripes. Then, put it in another room with a throw blanket draped over it. Just to add color to another room. But, then again, I would put the chair in my bedroom so I could throw clothes all over it. haha Have a great weekend. :)

I love it! Isn’t it amazing how a new table and chairs spruces up the place and makes you feel happier? Enjoy them :)

    B. Pissy – thanks – we are lovin’ it too!

Tammy – I think it is going to the basement and will be the new “project table”…

bon- thank you – Mr. Incredible doesn’t like to paint, but he does it because I ask…and because he hates white walls… Don’t think he doesn’t complain the whole time.

    EA- Great minds think alike…

Marel – great minds also think alike – one is in my bedroom, and the other is in the back entryway …

Al – Who knew spending money would make me happy.

Wethyb – thanks for stopping by and we like it too…

Memphis Steve – thanks for stopping by!

Bossy Britches & Peanutt – We thought would make a good project table, right now it’s just in the middle of the kitchen and Mr. Incredible is thinking we need an island of sorts because it made supper prep really easy last night…. so I am off to find a moveable island, and I’ll just buy it because well – he said we should have it… right?
