After much looking and trying to find something to replace my chipped set of plates that are at least 17 years old, (i’ve had them for 12 years, and the MIL had them at least 5 before that) we finally bought something. Why now? I don’t know - maybe its because we are down to four plates…and I think Mr Incredible was tired of eating off of paper.
Corelle Sandstone is what we ended up with from our local Wal*mart. I need to find a platter - for now the old platter will work and I did pick up a couple of serving bowls. Now don’t think we are beneath eating off of chipped plates, but when you cut your thumb on the chipped area they become a hazard.
Maybe I should sell the mismatches on Ebay….it’s kinda an ugly pattern - but maybe someone needs the salt and pepper shakers?

Nice! I think you’ll love the Corelle. I really like the Sandstone color. BTW, if I remember right, your old dishes are exactly like some my mom either has or did have! LOL!
6:44 am
I would try to sell them on ebay, people buy all kinds of crap on there! Who knows, it may be very desirable to someone!
I could use some new dishes myself actually
7:42 am
I like the sandstone… as for the ebay… go ahead! There may just be someone out there that broke theirs and ‘needs’ what you have.
10:40 am
Ohh, those are very nice. I really like the Corelle line of dishes.
10:43 am
For me, as long as you can make the irritating noise by scraping the tines of the fork across the plate perpendicularly, I’m okay with any dishes. Color be damned, just give me the chance to cause a shiver to go down someone’s spine.
11:30 am
Perpendicularly, Dave? Now…would that be up…or down?
1:15 pm
These are great! Good for you!
I would definitely do the Ebay thing….ya never know who is looking for just what you have
2:30 pm
Oh, pretty new dishes! I’m jealous!
5:42 pm
I love those. Very simple and classy…and matching
8:19 pm
Very nice! And I definitely think you should try to sell the old stuff on Ebay. Hey, if some guy can sell belly button lint why can’t you sell some dishes?
8:29 pm
I like the dishes! Simple elegance!
Give the ebay thing a shot, why not?
8:55 pm
I want some new plates. I just can’t decide what I like. I’ve been looking for years.
10:25 pm
Vani - Thanks - I like them too - at first I wasn’t too sure - because they are soooooo plain - but now I like them
Bossy - don’t you get a discount?
Blogarita - you have got to be kidding me…if she still has the set, is she missing any pieces?
Mel - I’m gonna give the ebay thing a try.
Meritt - will have to pull it all out and see what I have…you may be right.
EA - They take up a lot less room in the cupboard…hmmm guess I need something else to fill the empty space…
Dave - I am sending you the old chipped set - you can do make that chalkboard noise all you want.
Blogarita - you are just full of it…love it.
Beth - matching…yep most important thing of all…
Cheeky - thankyou!
Ashley - I’m 31 and this is my first set of dishes that were new out of the box…(OMG - did I just admit that?)
me - belly button lint? hmmm I’ve got dryer lint - yeah it was from Demi Moore load when she was in Iowa over the weekend…yep - that’s the ticket.
Katie - why not - everyone else does…
Tammy - Mr. Incredible picked these out - He was tired of me not finding what I want.
11:17 am
Those are some lovely dishes… I wish mine were as lovely and simple, but ya get what ya get when ya get gifts!
11:35 am
‘rita, I just meant the fork should be perpendicular. Shit, I don’t know.
