Every time I turned around today, someone was giving Tink candy. Tootsie Rolls, Lollipops, cookies, M & M’s, you name it - if it was sweet, she was eating it. Even after I said - ‘no more’ - she’d just walk up to the dessert table and ask the nearest person taller than her for help - and they of course fed her…she is on a total sugar rush! This is her - stuffing a tootsie roll in her mouth when she saw me, after I said ‘no more’.
We went to a family reunion today - saw many relatives that I haven’t seen in years. They knew me when I was little and I knew them when they had hair.
Only 100 or so people, Mr. Incredible went with me - to say that he hates this type of thing would be the understatement of the year. But he does like this side of the family. I think he was glad he went, he talked to my Grandpa (for a short time) and to some of my uncles. (This side of the family really likes Mr. Incredible, they think is he a great husband and father. This side of the family actually gives the guy a chance - I like that about them - anyone is welcome in their home, as long as you treat everyone with respect. There is always room for one more. That’s how family should be.)
My Grandpa even called me tonight at home to say how much it meant to him that all the “Incredibles” were there, and how glad he is that I have such a good husband. I don’t know why, but I think Grandpa is getting ready to die. Just a few things that he said, was like he was tying up loose ends….I love him, and I’ll miss him greatly when he is gone.

Your daughter is gorgeous!!!!
I love family reunions…..they should happen more often for occasions other than weddings and funerals…..
I miss my grandparents. I lost my last Grama about 5 years ago. I lived with her my entire life….things are very different with her gone……

Ahh kids and their candy ..hehe love the look on Tink’s face - she is tooo cute!!
Family reunions can be great when everyone gets along - I am glad you had an enjoyable one.

Yep, isn’t it always that way. The kids are just to damn cute, and everyone thinks they are so sweet, so they give them anything they want!! lol
I felt that way about my gpa dying too. just had that feeling that he was going to go pretty soon. I wish I could go to my family reunion this year, but we live to stinking far away. sucks!

Great post! Cute pic.

Love the pic, cutie!
Family reunions are risky at best, at least in my family.
12:28 pm
Mr Incredible and Dadguy are SO VERY alike! I know what you mean about your grandpa, sorry.
1:15 pm
Tink is absolutely darling…she’s going to break hearts one of these days…just hope it’s not her daddy’s.
Glad to hear things went well for Mr. Incredible.

Love the picture, especially the name tag! Good thinking fantastagirl. Glad your family is accepting. I’m sure he appreciates them too.
5:46 pm
Sounds like you enjoy your reunions more than I do mine. I don’t mind one side but the other? I’d rather stick toothpicks in my eyes and walk into a pit of fire. Think I dislike them?
5:51 pm
heavens your daughter is cute!
I was thinking about my inlaws gatherings today and realized that I usually felt “odd” after they were over. I am thinking it has something to do with the amount of sweet things that are served at those affairs, and of course I jump in with both front feet. We have one coming up this weekend. I will have to verify my hypothesis,,,as I gobble down the goodies

Tink is soooo cute, even if she was eating candy she wasn’t supposed to.
Glad the reunion was fun, and Mr. I had a good time…

CP- Thanks – of course she does!
Laura – I’m afraid of how things will change when my grandparents are gone – I still have all my grandparents – the great-grands are gone – but it will be a big change.
Cheeky – I kept expecting her to start singing “I…..Want Candy!” This side of the family of course everyone gets along – now the other side? That would be sorta scary – although they all get drunk and forget about it the next day.
Choppz – you’ve got that right…
Tammy – she’s got nothing on your princess – who is a doll.
Jennifer – thanks for stopping by!
Brighton – On this side of the family it’s okay – my dad’s side – now that is a crap shot.
Bon – I’m seeing that more and more…
Pro-D – it’s always a bonus when the spouse has a nice time. I don’t know about Tink breaking hearts – she promises to always be our baby girl….
Tamara – You know, an older woman is not a bad set-up – maybe we will have to schedule a play date – I want her to be with a good guy when she gets older…
Beth – Sounds like your reunions might be a bit more colorful than this event.
Mal – I don’t know what it is about that generation – but they can make the best sweet/bad things…
Shannin – It’s always cute when it’s someone else’s kids, although my mom reminded me, that I used to take the kids and give them whatever they wanted and take them where ever they wanted.
Vani – thanks – she has my eyes…. it’s always about the food.
