Give me time…

I’m mulling over a post. It involves family (mine), and Christmas.

I’m just debating whether it’s worth posting.

1) My family puts the FUN in dysFUNctional.
2) it’s a touchy topic
3) I’ll probably loose readers, because I can’t word it to make me sound less bitchy, because truth be told, I and Mr. Incredible are the ones with the problem. (according to 2/5 of the family.) The other thinks she can solve it with out making me look bad, and the other says “ha ha not my problem!”)

********
Now some sad news:

One of our fellow bloggers is going through a tough time - Mel from Mel’s Meaningless Ramblings, just lost her Dad. Send her good thoughts, okay - I can’t imagine (nor do I want to) how hard that would be. Hugs Mel!

    If you lose readers because you happen to be bitchy or dysfunctional about something, just like friends, they weren’t “real readers” anyway. Blog about it or not, it’s YOUR blog, but don’t worry about the readers you ‘might’ lose.

    Don’t know Mel, but sending good thoughts…I’m a daddy’s girl, cannot imagine. Don’t want to…so very sad.

    Shoot. Most of the blogosphere is bitchy AND dysfunctional. However, we don’t have to spend Christmas with each other.

    Thought of becoming Jewish? Buddhist? Perhaps coming down with the Creeping Unknown right before leaving for the trip and then staying home and starting your own traditions???

    I come from the family pictured on the Dysfunctional Family Poster, so I know of what I speak.

    We just moved out of state. That helps.

    I agree with Tug and MO3 in the sense everyone bitches and has something dusfunctional in the family. I think you need to do what is best for your family–Tink and Pan–because Christmas really is for them. You might miss seeing your parents but go the next day or have them and not the rest of the gang at your house.
    I didn’t have the family problems to deal with but there came a time when we decided it wasnt’ fun dragging the kids around and they wanted to stay home where they were comfortable and we spent the day as a family. We did get together with family for pie later in the afternoon, but we spent the morning and early afternoon at home in our pj’s playing with toys. Of course, I was playing house in the kitchen cooking.

    I say write what you want. I have to keep the nastiness out of my stuff because Doug’s family checks in and I totally offended his mom by saying she lived in Hillbilly Hell so I can’t say what I really think. If I had time I’d make my own bitchy blog…

    I say post it anyway. This is your blog. Your venting tool. You have every right to feel the way you do and to express it in the way you feel best. If that includes putting it on this blog, go for it. Whether it’s your problem or their problem, I say talk about it. It may help you put it into a different perspective.

    Everyone knows blogs are for bitching about things, so let it fly.

    OneHung thinks it’s safe to say that every family is dysfunctional whether they choose to admit it or not…even superhero families.

    OneHung thought his family was fucked up til he married his first wife, and they were far more fucked up than should be allowed. Fast forward to second wife, and…well, don’t get OneHung started.

    You need to do what you need to do.. forget losing readers. We all have our own dysfunction…please don’t feel alone in this.

    If you can’t vent on your blog, where can you? Go for it. If people aren’t interested, they can hit the “next blog” button just as easily as anything.

Childhood is just a fairytale, so why not have superhero parents for their fairytale lives? Characters:

DH - Mr. Incredible;
DS - Pan (8);
DD - Tink (5);
