and they are gone….

Our house is the perfect size for our family of four. it is not the perfect size for 12.

Lets count…

Older Sister + Her Hubby + nephew#1 + nephew #2

and that to

My mother, + My father, + my younger brother, and his “Friend”

and

Pan + Tink + Me and Mr. Incredible.

Yep - that is a few to many….about 8 to be exact.

The kids had a great time - they played pinball, the game cube, tag, etc.

The Brother that had to see us while he is back - didn’t play with them at all… not one bit. He sat with my Older Sister and put together a puzzle - not saying a word…

My Dad and BIL watched Bond movies on the TV. My mom did the puzzle for a while, and played with the kids. I worked on a sewing/crafty type project, trying to come up with something to talk about - getting yes or no answers. Yeah, there was so much more that I could have been doing today - de-christmasing the house for one.

Instead I was cooking, and serving and being a hostess, to a group of people who really didn’t want to be together, but had to be together because we are related.

And so that’s the end of Christmas for another year. Sorry to hear it ended on a negative note for you.

I’m so keen to pull down our Christmas stuff too, and have the house back to normal.

Somehow I also need to get rid of all the chocolates we’ve been given (WITHOUT me eating them…) so I can make room for real food…

And it will be nice to not have tinsel everywhere, and little people pulling at the tree…
And I normally love the holiday season…!
    Bring on NYE now! :)

I have to say that I enjoy MOST of our 23 people that we have over. The 3 I don’t? Make interesting blog fodder and something for us to make fun of during the day.

I need to take down the tree and am avoiding it like the plague. I’ll wait for Josh to come home and help.

It’s kind of funny to listen to OneHung bitch about the holidays because he hates them, only to find various e-mails and instant messages sent his way because it’s supposed to be a “happy” time of year and he should be a big enough adult to put up with crap because it only comes one a year.

Then it’s humorous to read about how the holiday went for others and invariably, OneHung finds he’s not alone.

UGH… Sorry, well at least it is over. I had a good christmas all around, though I’m tired and my house looks like toys r us exploaded in it, and i have no room for the stuff they had before so where i’m putting the thousand new toys the kids got I’ll never know.. I’m just being lazy this week and letting them lay though out the dinning room and living room, figured when the kids go back to school next week then I’ll start the nasty job of cleaning and finding a place for stuff, once i do that I’ll take the christmas stuff down. I like to keep my tree up until after new years it makes it more festive for NYE. So maybe if i don’t have anything exciting going on NY day i might start taking it down who knows.
