***Warning* this is not a funny post, no humor, no joy, I’m whining, and complaining …. This is me, being real, being myself, being honest, if you don’t like it, please move on. Thank you.***
I need a pause button.
I have one for the DVD Player, the CD Player, and the TV.
But I don’t have one for life.
I could really use one right now. I can’t seem to catch up.
I read your blogs, and I think - how do they do it? In pictures your homes are always impeccable, I’d love a clean house, yet I can’t seem to keep mine in check. Lately, I’m feeling good if we are all in clean clothes, and look presentable when leaving the house in the morning.
I can’t keep up - I try to leave the house by 7:20 every morning, and am home around 5 or 5:30 every night. Most days I eat my lunch at my desk. I’m the one who drops the kids off in the morning, I drive right by the center, it makes sense…but I’m the one who has to deal with Tink’s fit every.single.morning. (it’s getting better, but it’s a 15 minute ordeal to drop her off - when it should be 5 tops!) and mentally I’m exhausted by the time I get home, prepare a meal (most of the time we end up going out because I just don’t have the energy to cook, and then clean up), help with homework, and put the kids to bed.
Mr. Incredible helps out, I don’t want you to think bad of him. His work schedule sucks, and for this month, he won’t be home, when we are home. Even on the days when he will be home, Tink will go to daycare, because chances are 9 out of 10 that he will get called out for work, and then we wouldn’t have a place for Tink to go.
and the kids - they know I’m tired and push my buttons. The fight me on bedtimes, on brushing teeth, washing faces, on eating their suppers, picking up toys, etc. I find myself being short with them, and it’s not them I’m angry at…
…it’s life, it’s many things, it’s nothing, it’s everything, it’s the stupidity of this nation, it’s the stupidity of the media, it’s the stupidity that morons get promoted, and they higher up they are the lazier they are, it’s - I don’t know - but why can’t people grab their ears and pull their heads out of their donkeys’, why do they have to be so stupid?
I just need to pause time so I can catch up with life.
Sooo if you find my pause button, let me know - and make sure you include a fresh pack of batteries, because two of the remotes in this house are out of batteries, yeah that happens when you take from one remote to make another work. (Shut it - you’ve done that before - don’t be judging me!)
**** It will get better, the spring is almost here - I loved spring last year - I think it was on a weekend!****

I found your pause button - but unfortunately I’m not sharing it. Oh, and I always have batteries since DH gave me my first battery recharger. (I <3 DH)
Sandwiches, chips and apples make great dinners, so does cereal.
They had it for lunch? I didn’t think kids cared.
Sorry about the morning tantrums. They hurt the heart bad.
And, you’ve never seen my house. It’s in need of some TLC before I hope on a plane next week. I don’t think DH will have the energy to clean next week.
When I return from my trip, I’ll toss the pause button as I fly between Memphis and Minneapolis.

I was a working, single mother for 13 years, and looking back, I have no clue how I did it. Even after SG came into the picture, while I was still working, I simply wasn’t keeping up on the housework, etc.
Being a stay-at-home wife and grandma is the only way I’m able to keep a decent looking house and have home-cooked meals almost every night. And it’s still difficult. I have to work hard to stay on task, and have routines I follow in order to get everything done.
I understand exactly where you’re at, and most weeks, I could use a pause button too.
Hang in there!

Oh, honey, I feel your pain. My house is a mess and I am lucky to shower every other day. I don’t think it’s a pause button we need but maybe nannies and housekeepers. Just for a couple of days.
10:59 pm
Your spring is like our spring. I wish I had a pause button, too, and I don’t have kids. Just a lot of other crap in life.
Can you have a night to yourself, or maybe a night where you and Mr. Incredible can get a babysitter and just touch base.
And do you need AA or AAA? I get my batteries at the dollar spot at Target.
5:00 am
Not to worry. I think I have the answer to your problem. Are you ready?
Mr. Fabulous–Nanny!
Yeah, I didn’t think you were ready
7:17 am
I think you need some time off for yourself, and maybe a week away with Mr. Incredible. Deep breaths, and lots of wine!

Listen when I was working, I felt the same way. It really is overwhelming to be a working mother and to try to keep on top everything. I can honestly say, I feel like failed miserably at it.

I’m a working mother too, and my house is far from being perfect. I don’t work everyday and I still can’t keep up with anything. So no matter what you house looks like, You Are A Great Mom!!!, and don’t forget that.

I insisted two years ago that if we were both working, we could afford someone to come in and clean the house. We already pay a gardner because DH says “he doesn’t have a lawn mower”, so if he can get out of that, I can get out of cleaning the house!
It helps immensely! Hang in there - we all go through these days!
11:50 am
hmm. i stay at home all day long - everyday.
my laundry is piled up. i could send you pictures. I have no more spoons. all the dishes are dirty
my floor hasnt been washed in hmm since i cant rememebr the last time it was washed thats moot.
and i stay home all day.everyday
there are nights i say we are ordering in becuase im just so tired of them, of the kitchen of everything. sadnwiches for lunch? we’ll have em for supper too!
i think everyone over the age of 18 needs a pause button, not just you
7:39 pm
I remember those hectic days of working with kids. My mom was retired and she helped out alot, I dont know what I would have done without her. Now my kids are grown, but still doesnt seem like enough time in the day!

Here’s the secret for pictures making your house look clean. . . . shove everything outside of the frame of the camera. It is really hard to do everything and you need to remember you are working two full time jobs. One at home and one at the office. There just isn’t enough of you to do everything. Here’s a tip for dinner that has helped me a lot. All the meals are done in 20 minutes start to finish. And they are good and healthy. The cookbook is called “Robin Miller, Quick fix meals”. Good luck! Hang in there!

Sorry about the book! I just have a few opinions about the expectations we place on ourselves
