The Incredible’s are going on vacation.

I still need to do a few loads of laundry, pack, etc. but it shouldn’t take that long – we are only going to be away for the weekend. Pan will be done with school for the year at 1:00 pm, and then we are out of here!

Off to the Zoo!!! The zoo? Yes, the Zoo!

The kids can’t wait – Tink asked this morning if today was the tomorrow that she was waiting for… I told her and showed her that FRIDAY is the day we are leaving to go to the zoo – it will be a longer trip than going to Papa’s but if she sleeps it will go super fast!

I am sure that we will have a great time – hoping that it doesn’t rain, and we get a lot of great pictures!

I was busy today. Wanna know what I did? you don’t – then don’t read any further….

Hey, I warned you….

Got to work at 7:30 am – realized I forgot something at home, went home, got back to work…

1) Set up portable DVD player to show boss what he needed to buy to make something work and that it would or wouldn’t work, etc…sometimes you have to see to believe.

Go through the “opening of the office routine” – takes forever!

2) Enter 7 new employees into system, set them up with keys etc.

3) Pay bills for Company #2

4) Payroll for Company #2 – 20 or so employees (1 didn’t get paid – he didn’t turn in his time sheet…)

12:30 – Lunch Break – got a whopping 5 minutes to eat some grapes, while waiting for my soup to warm up – and then was interrupted by the beer delivery guy, and then the linen guy, and then a bride showed up and wanted a tour…1:45 back to my desk, co-worker put soup in the fridge, at that point in the game, decided to skip the soup. and went back to my list…

5) Payroll for Company #1 – 5 employees and monthly reports required for grants and contracts…

Phone rings constantly for both companies – (not complaining, but the other secretary seemed to be MIA this afternoon)

6) take checks to appropriate people for signatures (finding the people is half the battle – they know I look for them at the end of each month!)

4:00 pm –

7) found my desk – it’s been the dumping ground for the past week and today – I finally starting handing things to the people who put it there every time they walked past my desk. Boss from Company #1 and Asst. Boss from Co. #2, were scared to walk by the end of the day – but I did find the top and am down to three huge stacks – feeling good about that – I should be able to get to the bottom of that tomorrow. – I like to have a clean desk at the end of everyday – makes morning so much easier!

cleared off – one laptop, one DVD/VCR player, and am down to: Laptop – 1, portable DVD player – 1, desktop computer-1, phones – 2 … so very excited – I may even get (get this – are you ready?) another file cabinet … CAN’T WAIT! I got a new fire safe today – WOOT!!

and then I got to leave – at 5:00 – only 1/2 hour later than I am supposed to leave – LOVED that – great DAY!!! I had close to 20 hours of OT on my paycheck. Gonna love that little extra money, but it seems like that FICA GUY got most of it – the bastard!

Yes, I know – I should take a picture of my desk sometime – most people look at me like I am nuts when they see my work space. (it’s okay, I know I am.)

So… what did you do today?

No.

It may have been a 3 hour meeting because I wouldn’t change my vote, but I don’t care.

I did what I felt was right.

If they don’t want my opinion, then they should not have asked me to be on the board.

I even told a ‘wanna be politician’ to stop talking in circles. I asked him to show me where this “grant” was bringing money into our board room – and it’s not – it’s bringing it into the school district and actually is taking BIG MONEY away from us – not TO us.

I live on a budget, most of our customers live on a budget, we have to be fair and give them time to make changes…some board members have too much money and don’t understand those concepts….

Side note – I shocked the heck out of the director of the organization, and the president of the board… I love doing stuff like that.

or The post that isn’t.

I had a rant all typed out – felt soo good to get it out, and then, as I was proofing it – realized, ‘I can’t post this.’ and then proceeded to delete, delete, delete, and delete – yep it was a long one.

So here are a few updates…

1) Mr. Incredible heard from his Doctor. Apparently he has a fatty liver, which when you look at him, you kinda wonder how this is possible, but whatever. Diet and exercise. So in addition the diet we are supposed to be following for his Barrett’s Esophagus, we have an additional diet – I’m thinking he can eat Fresh Fruits (non-acidic of course), Veggies and fish – that’s about it. Will ask for a referral to a dietitian – so I can be better at this.

2) I don’t really have a “2″ but you can’t have a “1″ without a two. Watching the Twins – they are actually winning (8 to 4 – the batter just hit a double(he made it to 2nd and the guys on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd – all made it home) that scored three runs – what’s that called?) against the white sox, not that I really care either way, but nothing else is on TV – seriously – who watches the Miss Universe pageant?

I should go fold the two baskets of laundry that are just waiting by the dryer with my name on them, but sometimes folded laundry is soooo overrated, and this would be one of those times….

Work is going to be busy again this week. I have a board meeting tomorrow night, I have payroll this week, I have so much to do and so little time…makes me wish I would have gone in today just to try to get caught up.

How do you thank the men and women who protect your freedoms?

Guess who graduated from 4 year old pre-school today?

Guess who will be going to 5 year old pre-school next fall, cause she won’t technically be five until OCTOBER – which is 30 days too late to go to Kindergarten!

Give up?

Here’s a clue…..

“You can’t ride in my red wagon, the wheels are broken, and the axel’s sagging, same song, same verse a little bit louder and a little bit worse.”

and then you sing it louder, and louder, and until the kids are screaming – and then you go in reverse and go softer, softer, and softer until it’s a whisper?

yeah, well, my day was kinda like that…. Same song, same verse, a whole lot louder and a whole lot worse!

The appointment went as planned, won’t know anything until the specialist reads it, and sends the reports to the other specialist, whose nurse will call – do you see the freakin’ pattern? How long, do you suppose I have to wait before I can call and get results? Thursday? Friday? Do I have to wait until the 31st? I’m not a very patient woman, I don’t do waiting well.

The fund-raising event went okay – not as well as the night before, but that’s just how life is.

Tomorrow will be a more ‘normal day’, and then Thursday will be a killer, and Friday will be bad because the other “secretary” is taking the day off. WTF? HELLO TINK’s pre-school graduation is Friday, I WAS approved, and now, I am not sure….TICK ME OFF.

WOW….

I’m an exhausted – this was one long day! I was on my feet for most of it, running here, there and everywhere in between – I think I did the stairs 30 times, I must say the first few times I could bound up and down with no problems, by the end of the day I was wishing I could just slide down the banister…(do you suppose that would be frowned upon?)

Night one went well, but what the hell is up with people who come to events that do not RSVP? Why wouldn’t you RSVP when it asks you to RSVP??? HOW RUDE. Of course since I was in charge of confirming with the caters, I over estimated, but not by much – I was very happy that everyone had enough to eat, and the food was wonderful! Grilled pork loin, green bean casserole with huge hunks of bacon, baby red potatoes, garden fresh salads, and the dessert was chocolate cake, on top of whipped cream, and had raspberry sauce drizzled over – yum!

Tomorrow I’m off to the big city with Mr. I in the morning, and then back to work for the remainder of the afternoon and evening. I think we have the same menu for tomorrow evening…yummy…

I’m not going anywhere, I just don’t have much to say.

It’s as if my mind is on shut down. I know I have nothing to worry about with Mr. Incredible’s test on Tuesday, but I have a hard time convincing my heart to believe it. I’ve read pages, and pages of information. I feel like my mind is overloaded.

Work is crazy busy this week – big events on Monday & Tuesday night.

Wednesday – half-way normal (which just means slightly crazy).

BIG BIG day on Thursday.

Friday is Tink’s pre-school graduation is in the morning.

A long weekend will be nice…

You know the yell, the one from behind the closed bathroom door.

The one that’s followed by:

“Wipe my butt!”

Oh the joy’s of motherhood. Tink can mostly do everything on her own, but there are days when she needs a little assistance in the bathroom.

So I help her, tell her to flush, wash her hands and shut of the light. I go back to the living room (reading some blogs while Mr. Incredible and Pan are at the local airport on a tour.) and she comes bouncing out of the bathroom.

Tink: “I weigh 8-3-3″

FG: Don’t you mean 33.8?

Tink: Nope, starting on the right and going left I weigh 8-3-3.

So we go back to the bathroom and put her on the scale – she weighs 33.8, and I explain that when you read something you should read from left to right.

Tink: That’s silly, I start right and go left.

I think I should be happy that she knows the difference between left and right, but to convince her to read left to right is going to be a challenge.
