The one that’s followed by:
“Wipe my butt!”
Oh the joy’s of motherhood. Tink can mostly do everything on her own, but there are days when she needs a little assistance in the bathroom.
So I help her, tell her to flush, wash her hands and shut of the light. I go back to the living room (reading some blogs while Mr. Incredible and Pan are at the local airport on a tour.) and she comes bouncing out of the bathroom.
Tink: “I weigh 8-3-3″
FG: Don’t you mean 33.8?
Tink: Nope, starting on the right and going left I weigh 8-3-3.
So we go back to the bathroom and put her on the scale - she weighs 33.8, and I explain that when you read something you should read from left to right.
Tink: That’s silly, I start right and go left.
I think I should be happy that she knows the difference between left and right, but to convince her to read left to right is going to be a challenge.

heh. we can compare notes than. my just turned five year old is having the same issues.
only now that he is learning to write things, everything is perfectly readable… if you hold a mirror up to it.
he writes right to left AND each letter is completely backwards, even if it is nicely formed.
his numbers are all backwards.. well not one lol, and it is really really annoying.
I cant wait until kindergarten orientation to talk to his teacher about it!

My son wrote backwards too but evidently thats just a stage they go through. worrried me at first though!

Oh yes. I sympathize. My son just mastered the wiping of his own butt. it’s been swell. He too is amazingly independent BUT had the hardest time REALLY wiping because he honestly just was lazy about it LOL… anyway… the joys ;]. Cheers.

I wouldn’t like to think that’s the way to read the scale. Otherwise, I just gained 600lbs in the last week.
Scary as that is, it may still be pretty impressive.
Which makes me think, do people who read Hebrew read numbers right to left too? Hmmm… Any Jewish people out there who can answer that?

If it’s anything like we experience here in Chaos, her teacher will tell her once and that’ll be good enough. Me? I could talk till I pass out and the girls would never believe me. I think they think I’m dumb.
