It’s homecoming this week in Gotham City - and in our small town, that means all the high school kids run around and try to out do the ones before in decorating each others and teachers homes with toilet paper.
Unfortunately I can see both sides of this “tradition”. As a teenager I did my fair share of Tp’ing, I’m not going to sit here and say “I never did that, I was a perfect angel - because I wasn’t”.
Now as a neighbor of the high school principal, Kids these days are taking this just a tad too far. The Toilet Paper in the trees while a pain, doesn’t cause any real harm - the shredded paper while a little difficult to pick up - isn’t that bad either - sorta looked like they got a foot or two of snow(have to give some props as this did take some planning).
BUT the flour, the eggs, the shaving cream, Vaseline, and actual bags of trash (read GROSS!!) are taking things a bit too far. Those cause property damage, and HELLO - it’s disgusting.
I know you think you are oh so cool for what you have done, but they reported it to the cops…stop laughing, they could actually solve the case, cause one of you is going to be stupid enough to start bragging about it come monday in class…and one of your little buddies is going to turn you in for the $250 reward.
I say that one of the HS groups (Spanish club, FHA, FFA or something) should sell insurance at the beginning of the week - $25 they show up on Saturday and clean your yard - or $15 per night… something along those lines… bet it would change what is dumped in the yards, or maybe perhaps next year, we need sit in the backyard with our hoses and spray them down with water for running through our yard while trying to escape being caught. Do you suppose shooting them with paint balls would be wrong?
Two years ago, one of them fell off our retaining wall, and then ran into our crank out windows…. I was worried the idiot was hurt… Mr Incredible was worried the parents would sue.

I never heard of doing this stuff at Homecoming, just at Halloween.
And yeah, our Honor Society sold the insurance, but usually only the business would buy it. But it didn’t reduce the pranks. It probably just made it worse because the other kids knew we (nerds and geeks) would be cleaning it up.

Kids just don’t think. I’m with you - there is fun, and then there is taking it too far. Shaving cream & eggs ruin paint, too, don’t they?

We see our fair share of TP’ing in the ‘hood here. I just feel bad when the sprinklers go off!

awwwww.. TPing. one of my every other weekend if not every weekend pass time when I was young. I loved it, it was fun. I never did a teacher or anything like that. Youth leader yeah, friends boyfriends who did something stupid yes.. but never teachers they were just to mean and nasty and would come after us LOL. I really do think it was like every other weekend. Us girls would go out and TP the boys then the next weekend the boys would get the girls. I remember one night the group of girls were spending the night at my house.. we all went off and TP’ed this boy I liked house and as we were coming back we passed said boy along with all his friends and when we got closer to my house it was totally covered in TP. So while I was out doing his yard, he was over doing mine LOL.. fun times fun times.
I have been thinking alot about this lately.. YEAH>. I think sometime tonight or tomorrow morning I’ll be doing a post about this and asking for opinions..
as you see I have one coming to that age of maybe wanting to go out TP’ing.

Used to have a seminary teacher who was utterly ungettable. He used to hose kids down, got a little wet m’self once. Truly, the man had some sort of system; it was scary, day or night in six years it had never been accomplished. Perhaps I could track him down and find out his secret for ya?

I think it would be good adult fun to be ready and waiting for them and wage war. I’ve heard a guy from another town talk about it and it sounds like a blast!
Fortunately if that happens to me, they have to drive 1/4 mile down the lane first
