Kid Logic…

If we are really really quiet Mom and Dad will forget we are still awake and not send us to bed…

Will it work?

or

Will Pan’s really loud ‘Shhhhs!’ be to much for Tink to handle and she’ll come tell me he’s bugging her….

So how many of you let your kids stay up late on New Year’s Eve to ring in the New Year, but forget to tell the kids….

We’re back…

Did you miss me?

We went to the in-laws for the weekend.

I thought I would have time to post before we left, but the weather took a turn for the nasty and we left very hastily. Trying to beat the storm and instead we got caught in it, we live in a state that gets snow – it’s gonna happen.

The whole time Mr. Incredible is muttering- We are never going up there for Christmas again, we are never traveling this far with the kids in this weather again.

Me? I didn’t think it was that bad – we took it slow (obviously – at times visibility was slightly greater than an inch, and at others – the roads were a sheet of ice.) But then I wasn’t driving. The kids played their games, slept or read.

Mr. Incredible and I have an agreement that I don’t blog about his family – so I can’t say too much – Although I will say – My BIL (his brother) is a dumbass. If he fell off the face of the earth, I don’t know anyone that would miss him.

And I really enjoyed getting to see his cousin M – she is a tell it like it is, hold nothing back type of a gal – I guess waiting for someone to be a match to give you a kidney will do that to a person.

We did go out Friday night with an old friend of Mr. Incredible’s – great couple!

she did what?

I got a phone call today at work, from Tink’s daycare provider.

Guess what my five year old did today?

Anyone? Anyone?

Here’s a hint:

No, she didn’t create anything. Yes, She was playing with the beads, she was under supervision, she’s just sneaky. She stuck a shiny pink bead in her nose. Yep, in her nose.

So I leave work, try to get her to blow it out – and every time she would go to blow it out – she would sniff it up further… so before it cause any damage – I took her to the local doctors office, thinking that we would be going to the Big City to the west or Bigger City to the south, so that an ENT could remove it.

Get into the doctor’s office, by this time she is crying, her nose is starting to run – she keeps sniffing, although I keep asking/telling her not too… We don’t have to wait in the waiting room, we go right back to an exam room – and the nurse looks, and says – lets try…

and Tink’s eyes get really big… “I don’t want a shot!”

Nurse C grabs a Kleenex, has her blow – nothing, try again – nothing, – we can see it, but nothing is coming out. By this time the doctor is back from Lunch, and comes in – and says – I think we can get it – go get… (names some tool)… and the nurse steps out.

Tink looks at me and sneezes – and out pops the bead…

Dr. S – why would you put a bead in your nose?

Tink: To see if it would fit.

Dr. S – just smiles – fills out our paperwork, gives Tink a sticker and to the front desk we go.

I get ready to write out our co-pay and the gal says -

“No charge today”….

So if someone could explain the logic behind her thinking, I’d be so grateful….

I’m happy….

Mr Incredible has been working on a project for me – it’s something that I’ve sorta kinda been on his a$$ about for the last well, I don’t know – a while now.

We have a family website – that I used to use MS FrontPage to update – and then I had computer issues, and he fixed my computer problems, but had to reload all the software – do you think I can find my MS FrontPage software? NOPE, I couldn’t.

Long story short – he upgraded our photogallery, installed Wordpress – and I am updating the family and keeping the Aunts and Uncles happy. Actually – I think it is just one Aunt… cause I actually talk to the other sister, so she knows what is happening in our lives anyway.

I’m thinking that since time got away from me – and didn’t mail Christmas cards (shut it), that I will do an website card and email the family – that ought to be good enough – That’s it – Fantastagirl is going Green for the holidays – all the cool kids are doing it…

or something like that….

waiting….

and waiting….

for pictures to upload for the family to see christmas….

and waiting, and waiting….

Do you think perhaps I should not have uploaded 52 pictures?

*** Updated*** All done -now the family can get off my back….

Weekend fun…

My brother brought his four-wheeler over – Let the fun begin! The kids had a great time and he took them all over the yard, field, etc.

Aftter about 30 minutes – they needed to come in – it was just that cold outside. They of course didn’t want to. Knowing this would happen, Aunt D brought some undecorated cookies for the kids…. So the deal was made – Come in for Hot Cocoa, warm up a bit, and they would get to decorate cookies. After they warmed up, if it was still light out – they could go back outside.

They loved being creative, and the amazing thing about grandma’s house is that she doesn’t mind the messes (although when I was a kid, she minded the mess) They had a great time!

*Pictures removed*

The kids and I left Friday night, as soon as the truck was packed and headed north. The roads were not bad – pretty much just damp, but the fog. That makes it a white knuckle trip, because of the the little old ladies that are driving 35, and not being able to pass because you can’t see.

I followed a semi-truck for most of the trip – easy to follow, easy to see. and what normally takes me 3 hours – took almost 4 – not too bad. (and the three hour trip includes, the stopping to check out the bathroom at nearly every Casey’s and Kwik Star that we pass). Pan is getting much better about this, so I am guessing in two years, we may actually be able to drive to my parents without having to have a bathroom break, maybe.

We got up Sunday morning, and my BIL was flipping out as the roads were getting bad – and they had to get home. So he had the van packed before everyone else was up. They stayed long enough for us to get some pictures of the grandkids with mom and dad and then took off. I left after the kids had a bite to eat, and we headed off my Grandparents in my old hometown.

Grandma had been in the hospital because of a medicine mix up and she is doing much better, she says she almost has her energy back. We got our cards. Pan was so excited – This is going to my college account! Which made the great-grandparents very happy.

Left there at 3:00 and made it home by 5:00. the roads weren’t that bad except in a few places, and then visibility was nil, for the last 3 miles of the trip on the four-lane.

Disappointed in the fact that I don’t have anything good for the blog. A few things here and there – but nothing worth writing down.

Merry Christmas!

I’m leaving as soon as I can tomorrow evening for my parents home – 3.5 hours north of here.

I hope to beat the weather, as I am traveling by myself with the kids. Going the land of no internet – but should have lots of blog fodder when I return. (this is my family – and we put the fun in dysfunctional)!

I’ll be back on the 24th!
