I just realized…

In less than a month - my baby, my Tink will be going to Kindergarten Round-up, I’ll be signing her up for Kindergarten…

Oh.MY. GOSH….

My Baby will be in Kindergarten….

She’s no longer a baby….

I need to breathe…

and then as I am almost tearing up over this knowledge, Mr. Incredible says two words to me

“Daycare. Bill.”

and I smiled.

Right now, we pay around $160 per week, when Pan is in school all day everyday, and Tink is there full time. This summer? it will be close to $250 a week.

So when I get all teary-eyed again in February, and then again in the fall -someone please say - those two words - DAYCARE. BILL.

In our case, we won’t save much when Sparky starts kindergarten. We pay $20 a day for her daycare now. Once she starts kindergarten in the fall and is only at daycare before and after school, it will cost $15 a day.

A chunk of that $5 we save will go for her hot lunch at school (right or wrong, I think kids need a hot lunch, especially during the cold months). I’m sure the rest will just get spent on something she needs for school.

what the hell? two fifty a week?

I watch a little girl, a month younger than stuperman, (Ive had her since she was one) And I charge 20 bucks a day.

Your paying - in the summer, two and a half times what i charge/ What a Rip Off!

My god. I think If i was paying what you are I would have tried to get her in a year earlier!

Blogarita - I wonder if Sparky would qualify for free or reduced lunches?

Blue - Sounds like a great deal to me - any chance you moving to Gotham any time soon?

Daycare is just outrageous!! I was so lucky, my mom watched my kids for me. We paid her but nothing like what daycare charges and the absolute trust I had in her was priceless!

I’ll be right there with you!

OK, the daycare bill won’t drop much (as she’s in part time daycare and she will move to 1/2 daycare/after school care next year) but the preschool bill will go away.

Yep, my last baby will go to school.

My battle cry is “Only one pickup location!!”

LMAO at Laura - you are soooo not funny.

Timestep - I am lucky enough to only have one drop off and pick up location!

Mel - that would be a benefit of having parents that were closer - but sometimes it’s worth living further away.

    Mr. Fab - sometimes.

I always seem to get an itch for another baby when I don’t have a huge daycare bill any longer! Even though the Little Princess is in Kindergarden, ours is a paid program (because of huge school budget cuts) so it’s still $2700 this year.

Two Princess Girls - K is requirement of the state - so they haven’t cut the funding for it yet. (Notice I said yet!)

LOL @ Laura! K quit working in the summer because with the drive (gas) & both kids in daycare, she figured she made about $1 a week! Then she just didn’t go back (bad roads in winter & all ya’ know - hee).

I can’t believe what they charge these days…just WOW. And the disbelief that your baby’s that old? I get it. K’s first day SHE was thrilled…I bawled like a baby. ;-)

I hadn’t thought about reduced lunches because I was thinking about our income. But since Artsy would actually be the one enrolling her, it’s a possibility. Thanks for the reminder.

I understand how you feel. These little one’s grow up too fast. Princess started kindergarten this year and I find it hard to beleive that in a few short months, she will be going to school all day. *sigh* too fast. just too fast.
