This just in…

…. My state’s Governor is a moron.

Let the record show - I did not vote for him.

To all of you who did -
What the heck where you thinking?

**************************************************

My Local School Board is full of morons…. My kids will get out of school on June 10th…(supposed to get out May 23rd) and they start the new year on August 18th… They will have almost no summer vacation. They’ve applied to the state to ask about the “Act of God” type clause…. but with our current governor this is going to be very unlikely.

They won’t take any existing “breaks” away or go to school on a Saturday because it might upset the teachers….. I’m thinking sitting in class in June would be upsetting, seeing as we have no air conditioning. And the college’s summer classes will be starting on time, and I’m sure there are a few teachers that are ready to be students, but a bunch of idiots are running this state.

If I could do it - I’d consider homeschooling - but I’m not the right person for that job - I am not a teacher.

I want Sparky to be homeschooled, too. Just by someone other than me. LOL!

I like the idea of controlling what they are exposed to, what they learn and at what pace they learn it. But they also learn so many things at school - the social aspects, there is a family that homeschools down the street and their kids can not function with other kids, they don’t know how to deal with disappointment, etc…. I’m frustrated, but I know that I’m doing what is best for my kids by having them in public schools.

Bloglines must have been plugged up last night…I had NO reads last night as of about 9:45 p.m.

I’m glad there are some people in this world smart enough to know that not everyone is capable of homeschooling…NOT that you wouldn’t be - I don’t know - but there are some that think they are that um…NO. ;-)

Our kids are year-round, so their break is only about 5 weeks anyway. They have long breaks throughout the year. I think it is wonderful. I ate the long summer break and Im glad that we don’t have it!!! :-)
