Here are some photos -

This is a picture of our friends house and garage from the opposite side of the river - we couldn’t get close enough without walking through water on the other side - the water appears to be just touching the garage - it is not touching the foundation of the house - but the basement is filling up at a great rate!

This is a picture of on our city’s parks. You can see an old army tank, and a gazebo under water - the gazebo is raised - with 8 steps leading up to it. (Tamara - this is the park by the Mill, behind BK.) The water was coming out three of the mill windows - so the water is moving fast.

This is from the first street bridge - this is the Mill and dam - the dam normally has a 15ft drop - as you can see - not much of a drop. The water is coming out of the lower level windows. What you can’t see is to the right is a parking lot for downtown businesses - and it’s under water, their basements have water, and the first floor should be damp (if the past is any indication).

This is between the first and second street bridges - south of the picture above. There was a 4 door compact sedan parked between the telephone poles earlier in the day - the water was covering the wheels, so I don’t know if the water carried it away, or if someone was dumb enough to try to tow it out. What you can’t see is how fast this water is moving - it’s pretty amazing. The van? I’d say it’s gonna be musty for a while.

This is the second street bridge - you can see the food store in the background - they are moving in one week to a new location! Normally - there is about 15 to 20 feet between the bridge and the water. The river is normally between the pillars, not on this side. At the time of the picture they were allowing traffic over both bridges - if the river rises another 1/2 foot they will probably close the first street bridge (they did in the past). And if it goes another full foot they will close the 2nd street bridge (that’s what they have done as well).
Think SUNSHINE! We don’t need anymore rain!

The weather is so unpredictable! Stay safe and dry. Last Sunday it hailed here for about thirty minutes. The ground was completely covered with it.

Tug - We’ll take the dry wind
blue - it is - our house is far enough away and high enough, if we get wet because of the river, it doesn’t matter cause there is nothing left of this town, or county.
Kirsten - thanks!
Shannon - three weeks ago - we had snow, then had some hot sunny days, and then the thunderstorms, I am not sure but I think the sudden drop in temp on Friday saved a good portion of the community because we didn’t get the storms they were predicting on Friday and Saturday.

Same problems here……hopefully it’ll be over this week!
