Sometimes we have to wait,
and sometimes it hits us out of the blue.
But it happens.
Life - it can be a beautiful thing, I just need to remember, my kids are only going to be this age, once, there aren’t any do-overs. I need to stop trying to get them to grow up, so my life can be less stressful. Why does my heart know this, and my head refuses to remember.
Tonight we had to go to Wally-world after supper - needed topsoil and mulch. When we got home it was very close to bed time. I told both kids they needed to get ready for bed, Tink actually listened. Pan went to the back yard with Mr. Incredible. And they had found a baby bird, that was out of the nest, hoping along, trying to fly. Tink was watching from the back door, but she wanted to see it closer.
“Momma, it’s not fair, I listened, I”m in my jammies, and Pan gets to help, and I’m in here, and I’m not whining (she was) but I wanna go see the bird.”
FG: Tink, you can go.
And she was the happiest little girl ever.
Sometimes life can be good, I need to learn to not try to control every aspect, that watching a baby bird take it’s first steps, and trying to fly is more important, and more amazing than the tired little girl, I’ll be dealing with in the morning.

What a lovely post FG. It is so very easy to forget that these little people are kids and we should let them be kids for as long as possible.

I agree. But I think this is why sticking to the routines is so important. So that when something happens, like finding a baby bird, an exception to the routine can be made. Unfortunately, with Sparky, once an exception is made, she’ll try for nights on end to come up with more reasons why more exceptions should be made.
