*update at the bottom*
Like new parents, finding the perfect name is so important. It sets the child’s life. With a name like Elizabeth -perhaps one day you will be queen. With a name like Doris, you end up the scary lunch lady with the huge hairy mole on her face. You know - it’s something that Mr. Incredible and I debated on for a long long time. And when we finally agreed upon their names (Hey, it was hard to come up with Tink and Pan!) it was a huge relief, and they fit them so well.
And now, a new dilemma - we have to come up with a name, and not just any name - but a name for a new baby lamb. She’s new to my work. Arrived today. So very very cute - she’s all black, but when she is older she will have white wool and a black face (she’s a Suffolk) both the mommy ewe, and the baby are doing fine, and for a first time mommy she is doing great!
But the little one needs a name - what should we name it?
So… leave me a comment - with a suggestion - and if you win - you get naming rights to the little lamb.
*EDIT*
The first set of baby pigs were called Pork and Chop, the first lambs were - Lambchop, and Woolie - the thing is - my co-workers have the tendency to get attached to them, and have a fit when it’s time to go to market. Growing up on a farm, I know that livestock, ends up on the plate - it’s how life works. Chickens are great on the grill, Leg of lamb is pretty tasty, ham, bacon, pork chops, steak, burgers - well - you see where I’m going with this. When I return to work on Monday - I’ll give my co-workers your list of names and see what they choose. Thanks!

There’s a phrase you don’t here very often.

Lily was the name of a goat we had before, and Daisy is the name of the baby Holstein. Thanks for the great names!

My family named our livestock food names, because my mom (the vet) didn’t want us getting attached. So we had Rumproast the calf, although she lightened up later and our others were Bunny and Jack Rabbit (mom and baby). You could call her Mittens!
