Trees and such

The phlox (sp?) in front of our home - the color is so much brighter than what it shows in the photo. The bunny is something my dad made for me one year for Christmas. He’s got talent like that.

This is the new tree that Mr. Incredible and the kids got for me for Mother’s day - It will be beautiful in a few more years. That dead patch in the lawn is from where the slide of the swingset used to be. Hopefully it grows back this year. And I am well aware that the push mower is not working, and the weed eater is also out of commission, parts have been ordered, sooner or later we will have a nice looking yard again. I tried to get a few pictures of the neighbors yard, I don’t think they have discovered the joy that is known as weed control.

This is the crabapple tree in our side yard.  One week ago today it was beautiful, the blooms were amazing.  And now, not so much.  But the joy of a flowering crab apple is that it brings a little beauty at the perfect time when the tulips are done, and nothing else is in bloom.

I wish I had a green thumb, and actually enjoyed gardening.  but I don’t.  I love the flowers, I love the look, but I find no joy, or comfort in digging in the dirt, and weeding - I hate weeding.  I blame my mother, anytime we did something wrong in the spring through fall - we’d be sent out to pull weeds.  Maybe I should have been a better child.

Your yard looks great to me! I hate pulling weeds too. (That’s why I put out those weed liners from Lowe’s in all my flower beds, and plant all my flowers in pots.) Maintenance free….except for the watering part, lol.

The weeding and watering are why I don’t like to garden. The diggin’ in the dirt is kind of fun, though.
