That’s the hard thing about life, when someone dies, as much as you want it to, the world doesn’t just stop. There isn’t a pause button. You can’t freeze time. As much as I would love to be able to freeze time for a blogger’s family and make it “okay” for her girls, I can’t. I am sure many of you know – Lisa @ Clusterfook passed away last night. She was a remarkable woman – amazing. She fought very hard in her battle against ovarian cancer…. For her husband and two daughters I wish I could rewind time, or stop it, just for a while.
But it doesn’t.
How I wish I could make it better for Lisa’s family and friends. I wish I could hit a button and it would pause….everything. Until they were ready, for the world to continue….but until that happens… <<<HUGS>>>
I stole this from Metalmom. I figured it’s okay – since she borrowed it from Poppy.

I don’t know what came over me today, but our house is clean, as in invite the pope over clean. (cause he’s still short right? as in he won’t see that I did skip the top of the fridge.) It’s only pope clean, not mother-in-law clean.
Our bedroom closet has been completely emptied, painted, new shelves installed, and 5 bags of clothes have been donated to goodwill (between all of us, baby stuff too – just didn’t want to have a garage sale.)
Toys are out of the living room, out of the basement – and confined to the kids room – OMGOSH – it’s been 8 years, 8 years of toys underfoot, toys everywhere, and now only in their rooms… and the rules are – toys can come into the living room, only if they will be put away when they are done playing with them. (yeah, we will see how long that lasts…)
Laundry is the only thing that isn’t done… I have about three loads left, but that will get done tomorrow night. it’s late, been late every night this past week, and I was up early today.
It’s done, that’s about all I’ve got… it’s done.
I think the title says it all… I am very ready for winter to be over, but I think we probably have a good 6 weeks left of this crap. Got a little over 6 inches, and it snowed some more this afternoon.
Cleaned out the closet today – and will have bags of clothes for Goodwill, has needed to be done for ages, so it will be nice to have it all done. I cleaned out the food cupboard today, and found a place for almost everything on the counter, but still have the “nothing” to eat in the house syndrome. Have a freezer full of meat, and don’t know what we should make for supper. Yeah, I think I better get off my assets and come up with something for supper… the little people are getting hungry.
I was on the rotation for a new computer this fiscal year, and got lucky enough that the boss agreed to let me get a laptop, with a docking station. I love my new office set-up. Really like that if I am going to be out of the office that I can take my computer with me, and have taken it home on weekends to work. (not really sure I like that of it, but at least I can “bank” my hours and use them when I am off on sick leave again this spring.
The only thing is I strongly dislike the laptop bag that came with the computer. (I didn’t get to pick my computer – it’s either – I want a desktop and the standard computer is mailed from the IT dept, or I want a laptop and the standard is mailed complete with bag – and I didn’t get any say in the bag and we are talking UGLY, and not very practical.
My boss looked at my bag, and wondered why they would send “that”. I shrugged and said well, it’s what I have, so it’s what I will use….
BUT he will let me buy one of my chosing, and reimburse up to $55. If I spend more than that it’s out of my own pocket – so I want to keep the costs down. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what they like, and don’t. I would like something that my power cord, and a file or two will fit inside as well.
Talk to me people!
Today started out much better than I thought.
The kids actually moved this morning, getting up, dressed, having cereal, brushing teeth, etc… and were ready to leave the house 5 minutes before I wanted to leave… I was very happy, and I told them so.
Dropped them off at daycare – quick hugs, kisses and have a great days… and Pan says – you know Momma, this is going to be a great day – because it’s Monday!
Go to work – work a registration table for an event that has nothing to do with my work, but it made the higher-ups happy.
Get some major work projects done – sent to two different boards for approval, reports filed with the regional offices and checks signed and mailed…. major accomplishments – especially for a Monday. By 2:00 PM I had accomplished more than I usually get done in three days – the key? The phone didn’t ring once… People thought the office was closed – Presidents Day.
Picked up the kids, and went grocery shopping…
Supper, Baths, and snuggle time…
equals tired kids and a quiet house.
Life is good, but I’m guessing tomorrow – the phones will ring and I’ll go back to getting nothing done…. I need a back office, a nice quiet office… someday.
Just another lazy day. We should do something exciting – lets see on the list today?
1.) Laundry – (no the laundry fairy still has not come here.)
2.) Work on a work project that I didn’t have time to complete at work, yet needs to be done before I go in on Monday. (you’d think I had some big important job, and make big $$$, but sadly I don’t. and the Boss, forget that it’s not the end of the world… I get frustrated that their lack of planning makes for an emergency on my part.
3.) Mr. I wants to go somewhere… will have to see what the day brings.
Have an awesome day – and for the NASCAR fans – hope your guy wins.
Tink: Momma, today was the worst day ever-ah!
FG: why?
Tink: Well, I didn’t get A’s Mommy at the Dentist, I got that other girl, and she didn’t let me talk. I only got one ring and TWO stickers, and they only had the Jonas brothers. Then my ring got broken, and it was most beautiful ring…it’s just gone. And then I lost my hairbrush. and Mom, my Tinks’ were in my butt all day.
FG: Really? I give her a hug, and think to myself – don’t laugh, not when she is in the room.
So we find her hairbrush (on her dresser, not where it belongs.)
Talk about that sometimes things break, and there is nothing we can do about it.
She didn’t have any cavities… bonus!
And as far as her Tink’s being in her butt all day – I asked her why she didn’t change her underwear before she went to school if they were “in her butt” or even after we got home and just toss those if they were too small? Her answer?
Tink: But Momma – these are my favorite ones – can you make them bigger? (her jeans have the elastic that you can adjust to make them smaller, and then let them out as needed.)
So I look at them – she wears a size 6 slim jeans (w/the elastic pulled tight.) the size of these “tinks” 3-4T. uhm yeah, they’d be uncomfortable. and they are now gone. I’ll have to look at Wally-World to see if they have “tinks” in her size, or if she’ll be stuck with something else.
Do you ever have days when you are so worked up about something?
You feel so strongly about it, you write a post, your fingers flying over the keys, the words pouring out of your head quicker than your fingers can find the right keys?
The blood is just pumping through your veins.
Your heart is just racing.
And then – you stop, you read what you’ve just typed, and you think….
“this is good, I really got my point across, they are going to be able to see the other-side, and perhaps they will stop and think.”
So you get ready and you are going to hit that little blue button to the right of the screen – “Publish”
And then you realize – “It’s not worth it.”
What good is one post, on one blog?
Nothing is going to change, the American people don’t want to hear the truth, they aren’t ready for it.
and eat it too.
Mr. Incredible’s Birthday was on the 5th – due to his not feeling well, and being told not to eat anything. I didn’t make him a birthday cake. I didn’t buy him one either – Has anyone ever looked at how much FAT is in a cake? Yeah, doesn’t fit the low-fat, low sugar orders he was given.
Today at the grocery store we found some cake mixes,

and frosting mix – by Sweet’n Low… and Sugar Free, Cholesterol-Free, Low Sodium had to give it a try.
Just add water… I made them into cupcakes because I don’t have an 8 inch cake pan, and the batter was a little different than other cake mixes I’ve mixed up – the consistency is much different.

Tink helped with the decorating! Verdict ?
Pan doesn’t care for the frosting (he said I forgot to add the sugar.)
Tink loved the frosting, but not the cake, “it was kinda good”…
Mr. Incredible says they taste exactly like a cupcake with no sugar.
So while the look like cupcakes, have frosting like a cupcake should, they are missing something… (taste?)
