Are you ready for some football?

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TABASCO® Original Red. All opinions are 100% mine.

My husband and son love Mexican food.  They like the hot and spicy.  Mr. Incredible shouldn’t eat it, but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t like it.   They like hot wings.  I once caught Pan eating salsa, no chips – just salsa.

So one thing you will find in my cupboard, is TABASCO® Original Red sauce.  My Dad will put it on his eggs, roast beef sandwiches, and just about anything he eats.   Many people put it on pizza and with the Super Bowl just weeks away – this might be a time to start a new tradition!  It’s adds not only a little heat, but enhances the flavor of the sauce, and meat on the pizza – try it - Pizza Perfected – yum!

So dear readers – do you have a few game day favorites?  Perhaps you want to spice it up a bit – check out  Game-Day Party Menu for some great suggestions!

Wish Lists Comence

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pier 1 Imports. All opinions are 100% mine.

It’s the time of year to make lists.  And after seeing the kids lists, I’ve come to the conclusion, you can ask for anything – it doesn’t mean you are going to get any of it.    I like some of the things in Pier 1; but have never thought that I had the budget to shop there, Check it out.

Pier 1 has a few if I had extra money these are a few things that I would get:

1) the Mrs. Clause holiday apron

2) the snowball dinnerware – and serving plates – love those snowmen, and if I was having a holiday party in the home – wouldn’t it be fun?  I’ve been thinking of having the gals from the office come over, but looking at my schedule, it’s not going to happen.

I need to start looking for holiday gifts for MIL, yes, everyone should get something.

Oh you know how hard it is to find the right gift, especially for someone who has and I mean EVERYTHING!

But close to the top of the list:

1) the Candy Cane Platter dish – she would love to have that for serving the holiday goodies!

2) the Naughty & Nice hand towels – more as a joke, because they have a his & her bathroom…

Did you know that Pier 1 supports the Toys for Tots program?  You can join in their efforts,  by dropping off an unwrapped toy and/or making a cash donation at the register, during the months of November & December.   And Help their cause – if you do Facebook – check out their page – for every new fan they get, they will donate $1 to Toys for Tots.

What’s On?

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of GlideTV. All opinions are 100% mine.

With the changes in my job, and the kids busy schedule, I’m finding that I’m not home when the shows I like to watch are on TV.   I’m finding that my kids have discovered how to use the DVR and have “accidently” stopped the recording of my shows for their own, which is another post all on it’s own; but the problem is – How do I watch the shows I missed?

The Answer -What’s On  Missed the Rocky Horror Picture Show Version of Glee? – they’ve got it.  Although to be honest, I don’t normally watch Glee, but hearing everyone talk about how wonderful it was, I thought I should check it out.   “What’s On” is a visual guide to online entertainment, users can browse a video wall of recent TV shows, movies, news and sports that are available across the entire web.  The wall is well organized by category and genre, making it easy to find what you are looking for, you can browse by type of content, genre, free content etc.  One can find news about celebrities, new music and various news from social media networks.

One can search the most popular videos, movies, sports and news people are watching on the web right now.  “What’s On” is an easier way to browse and access NetFlix streaming content than within the NetFlix browser.   Not everything is free, you will have to use your iTunes account; or via Amazon.  If you can hook up your computer to your TV, would be an excellent way to watch a movie.

GlideTV has a sweepstakes on their Facebook page to win a Navigator to make the “What’s On” experience even better – check it out:  www.facebook.com/glidetv

Go on – check out “What’s On” for youself.

Need some help

Can you help a gal out?

My brother is wanting to give his wife a nice camera for Christmas.  They have a point and click – Cannon, but would like something a little better to take pictures of the babies that are coming in January.  They don’t like that the current camera has a long delay from the time they push the button to the time it takes the picture.

Budget – $500 to $800.

Discuss…. please!

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope each of you has a very Happy Thanksgiving and are able to spend it with the people you love!

We are staying home, Mr. Incredible is on-call for this half of the  state, so that means no travel for us.  (I don’t mind this… it’s kinda nice to stay home and have the kids to ourselves, a little selfish maybe…but it’s all good.)

Turkey is on the grill – yes, we are trying something new for us and grilling the turkey.  Buns are baked, the cornbread is done, and when the turkey is a little closer to being done, the mashed & sweet potatoes will be started, have apple dressing ready to go, corn, beans and cranberries.  and two pies… all of this for four people – anyone hungry?  Come on over.

Enjoying the day – being  appreciative for what we have, and realizing that if I don’t have it, I probably don’t need it.

Hugs to all of you…

~Fantastagirl and all the Incredible family.

Sometimes moms need a little help.

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Boudreaux’s Butt Paste. All opinions are 100% mine.

The next door neighbor is a new mom.  Her beautiful baby girl is only a few weeks old, and the poor thing has already had problems with diaper rash.  She asked what I had used on my kids bottoms to help with diaper rash.  I mentioned Boudreaux’s Butt Paste it seemed to work on their bottoms and work quickly, which if you ever had a child that has had diaper rash, quick healing is a priority.  Unlike some creams, it goes on and cleans off easily, and is available in a variety of sizes and containers.

Sometimes “cures” for diaper rash smell as bad as the diapers that cause the rash.  The Boudreaux’s Butt Paste doesn’t fit in that category, it’s actually pretty pleasant. It doesn’t have that “icky” smell.   If you would like to try a sample, please check out their website.  One can request a free sample and try it for yourself.    not only would this work great for diaper rashes, but could be used to help sooth irritated skin, in some delicate places.  Be sure to follow all label directions.    In looking at their website, I wonder if the bubble bath would help with Pan’s dry skin, as well.  His poor hands get so very dry in these cold winters.

Boudreaux’s Butt Pastewas created by a pharmacist with the help of a pediatrician.  It’s recommended by Pediatricians.     It contains 16% Zinc Oxide, Peruvian Balsam.  It is designed to help treats diaper rash and soothes irritated skin.  Perhaps it can help you today.

Good deeds…

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of vitaminID. All opinions are 100% mine.

There are still people in the world who do good deeds, and help those who are unable to help themselves.  I recently discovered that Dr. Benjamin LaBrot and his team will be going on a four month expedition to Honduras, providing preventative medicine and vitamins where they are needed most!  VitaminID.com will be following him and his crew on their tour.  Check out their site and their facebook page to follow along on this amazing adventure.

Floating Doctors is the first global medical team to utilize a green energy platform, the Southern Wind, a 76-foot expedition sailboat. Delivering medical relief to thousands of people in remote coastal areas, Floating Doctors will leave long lasting health benefits and a minimal carbon footprint in her wake.  <– did you see that – not only are they helping people, but they are do so in an environmentally friendly way!  They have found a way to not only helping their fellow men and women, but are do so in a way that is safe and helps the environment, respecting the delicate eco-systems in these coastal areas.

vitaminID.com supports Floating Doctors’ approach of employing cutting-edge technology, traditional medicine and altruism to promote better health, and the improvement of health care delivery worldwide.

When I was in high school, I dreamed of someday being a person that could make a difference in the life of someone else.  I wanted to be a nurse, and be able to help those who were sick.  Unfortunately, when I went to college I quickly discovered, that wanting to be a nurse, and being able to handle the sight of blood are not the same thing.  So while, I’m not a mission trip, helping the people of these great countries, I am making a difference in the lives of kids.

Through being a great mom to my kids, by being great at my job, and making each one of our “clients” (KIDS) feel as though they are the most important person in the world, at the time they are in my office.  That is how I make a difference, and who knows, perhaps the child that is in my office today will be a doctor of tomorrow, and because of the positive impact I had on him/her this child will go on to do “good deeds” as well.

They knew who I was

Last week I attended a state-wide conference for my company, I am a county level employee.  I was dreading going, because I’ve always attended a different conference, with my co-workers.  I know more people, and it’s in my comfort zone.  Since I took this new position, I’ve moved up to this conference.  Makes for an interesting switch, as walking in the door, I wasn’t sure if I really should be there.

At this conference I would say roughly 350 employees attended.

The President, two of the largest department heads, the CFO, DFO, Regional Directors (we have 20), and several field staff, sought me out to tell me I was doing great things, and to tell me to keep it up.  My biggest surprise was having one of the department heads come up to say hello, and I went to shake his hand and he gives me a huge hug in front of one my board of director members.  He didn’t know who she was, and he said “I wanted to let you know how sorry I was to hear of your loss,… I’m really looking forward to working on Project XYZ with you this winter.”  We had a little discussion, all the while this board member is standing there looking at me, with shock.  I addressed the man by his first name, not Dr. so and so.”  Another Dept head came up and similar thing happened – I also addressed her by her first name and not Doctor.  After they had left, it was time to go into our next break-out session, the board member turned to me and asked: How do they know you?  I reminded her, that I’ve been working with field staff on certain projects, and that these Drs. were involved and impressed with what I was doing.  So they asked for me to be involved with a new project.  I had been working with them so closely, that they had asked that I call them by their first names.  By the time we were done with one project, I know of their kids and have seen pictures of their grandkids.  They in turn,  know I’m married, have pan and tink.

(My regional director had explained why I missed a different conference last week, due to my grandmothers funeral.  Several of them had sent a card, or a quick email, but for them to seek me out and give me a hug at this conference was just amazing to me.)

Another surprise for me was that several times my county was praised for the way we are operating.  The field staff kept saying “If we could duplicate what is going on in county ‘X’; FG is doing a great job!    I didn’t think any of them were noticing, but they did.  Made me feel great!

This week will be busy – but I only have one night meeting – whew!  But have a few reports, and payroll items, and need to get an after-school program ironed out before Wednesday.  This is going to be one of those – the staff member either does it – or she’s gone type things, and she isn’t going to be happy about it.
